Jan Filakovsky – MD, PhD, MBA

Jan is an experienced Non-Executive Director and former CEO with extensive professional experience in leading strategically and operationally complex, large-scale, highly regulated international multi-site operations, delivering transformation and driving sustainable performance improvement throughout the Life Sciences and Biopharmaceutical sectors.

Leadership at public and PE/VC-owned large and mid-sized organizations underpinned by corporate governance expertise gained within IQVIA (Quintiles) Holdings and TFS International AB. Consultant and Adviser in Life Sciences to PE/VC firms and Governmental Organizations, affiliated as a part-time Associate Professor with the Institute of Digital Health Sciences.

Regarding his alma mater, Jan earned his medical degree from the medical faculty of Comenius University in 1991. The award of a health care management diploma from Semmelweis University in 1996 was followed by the successful defence of his PhD thesis on neurological sciences in 2001. Further expanding on his management skills, he obtained his MBA Diploma at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, and Vienna University of Economics and Business in 2011.

Jan is now based in Vienna and enjoys sharing his biopharmaceutical industry insights as an author and a speaker at conferences.
